Adding a New Venue
What this feature does
Adding a new venue allows you to expand your business by registering additional locations or properties to your account. Each venue operates as a separate location with its own menu, entry points, and settings, while all being managed from the same dashboard. Think of it as opening a second restaurant, another hotel property, or a new retail store—all under one account.
Who it is for
This feature is designed for business owners who operate or plan to operate multiple locations. Whether you're running a restaurant chain with several branches, managing multiple hotel properties, or expanding your retail stores to new neighborhoods, this feature gives you the flexibility to grow without needing separate accounts for each location.
When to use it
You should add a new venue when you're ready to:
Open a second (or third, or fourth) location for your business
Expand to a new neighborhood or city
Create a sister brand or concept under your existing business
Test a new market with a pop-up location
Add a seasonal location that operates during specific times of the year
Key concepts
Venue: A venue is any physical or virtual location where customers can order from you. It could be a restaurant, hotel, retail store, or even an online shop. Each venue has its own identity with a unique name, address, logo, and menu.
Business Type: When you add a venue, you'll choose what type of business it is. Your options include hotels, resorts, guesthouses, restaurants, cafes, lounges, bars, retail stores, and more. This helps the system adapt the dashboard language to match your industry.
Venue Logo: You can upload a logo or photo that represents your venue. This image helps you quickly identify different locations in the dashboard and also appears on customer-facing pages.
Country and Currency: Each venue needs a country designation, which automatically sets the currency for that location. For example, venues in Ghana use GHS (Ghanaian Cedi), while venues in Nigeria use NGN (Nigerian Naira).
Independent Operation: Each venue you create operates independently. This means you can have different menus, different entry points (like table numbers), and even different staff assignments for each location.
Common questions
How many venues can I add to my account?
There's no hard limit on the number of venues you can add. Whether you're managing two locations or twenty, the dashboard is designed to handle multiple venues efficiently.
Can I add different types of businesses under one account?
Yes. If you operate both a restaurant and a retail store, you can add both as separate venues under the same account. Each venue can be configured with its appropriate business type.
What information do I need to add a new venue?
You'll need the venue name, business type (restaurant, hotel, store, etc.), country, physical address, and a description. You can also upload a logo, though this is optional. All this information helps distinguish one venue from another in your dashboard.
Will my existing staff have access to the new venue automatically?
No. Staff access is assigned per venue. After creating a new venue, you'll need to specifically grant your team members access to that location in the Staff section of the dashboard.
Can I delete a venue later if I close that location?
Yes. If a venue closes or you no longer need it in your system, you can delete it from the Venues page. Be aware that deleting a venue is permanent and will remove all associated data including orders, menu items, and entry points for that location.
