Business Tier Explained
What this feature does
Your business tier is a dynamic ranking system that determines what service fee rate applies to your transactions. As your business processes more orders and generates more transaction volume through Servinn, you automatically progress through five tiers, from Tier 1 (for new businesses) to Tier 5 (for high-volume businesses). Each higher tier comes with a lower service fee percentage, rewarding your growth and making the platform more cost-effective as you succeed.
Who it is for
Every business using Servinn has a business tier, whether you are just starting out or running an established operation. Understanding your tier helps you see where you stand, anticipate how growth will reduce your costs, and plan your business development knowing that higher volumes lead to better rates automatically.
When to use it
You do not actively "use" your business tier; it updates automatically based on your performance. However, check your tier when you want to:
Understand your current service fee rate.
Plan pricing strategies for customers.
Estimate how much additional volume is needed to reach the next tier with lower fees.
Key concepts
Five-Tier System: The platform has five progressive tiers.
Tier 1: under 10,000 in transaction value — 1.5% service fee.
Tier 2: 10,000–50,000 in transaction value — lower fee.
Tier 3: 50,000–100,000 in transaction value — lower fee.
Tier 4: 100,000–300,000 in transaction value — lower fee.
Tier 5: above 300,000 in transaction value — 0.5% service fee.
Automatic Progression: The system continuously monitors your cumulative transaction volume and automatically adjusts your tier and future service fee rate when you cross a threshold.
Volume-Based Thresholds: Tiers are determined by total transaction value processed through the platform — every sale, order, and booking counts.
Permanent Progress: Once you reach a tier, you do not drop back to lower tiers if business slows temporarily. Your tier reflects cumulative achievement.
Transparent Tracking: You can view your current tier in your Settings area to see what rate is being applied.
Common questions
What tier do I start at when I create my account?
All new businesses start at Tier 1, which has a 1.5% service fee. This is the highest rate, but as a new business with lower volumes, the actual cost per transaction remains modest while you build your customer base and transaction history.
How do I move to a higher tier?
Simply by doing business through the platform. Every completed transaction counts toward your cumulative volume. When you cross the threshold for the next tier (for example, 10,000 in total transaction value to move from Tier 1 to Tier 2), the system automatically upgrades your tier and applies the new, lower service fee rate to future transactions.
Can I check how close I am to the next tier?
Your business tier is displayed in the Settings area, showing your current tier and associated rate. While the exact threshold tracking may vary by platform version, you can generally see which tier you are in and estimate your progress based on your reports showing total transaction volumes.
Does my tier apply to all my venues?
Your business tier is typically calculated based on all your venues combined, reflecting your total business volume across all locations. This means running multiple successful venues accelerates your tier progression, benefiting all your locations with lower service fees as you grow.
What happens if I reach Tier 5?
Tier 5 is currently the highest tier with the lowest service fee rate of 0.5%. When you reach this level, you have achieved significant business volume through the platform and enjoy the most favorable rates available. Even businesses at this tier continue benefiting from growth, as the low percentage applies to ever-larger transaction volumes, keeping costs competitive as you scale further.
